The Tale of Solomon

Thompson Institute Manor, 118 East 94th Street, Manhattan, New York City

On a cold October evening, Sulayman was abandoned in the heart of Central Park. No note. No explanation. Only the drifting streetlamps and the soft crunch of leaves under his shoes.

That's when Oscar Thompson appeared — a tall man in a long charcoal coat, his voice calm, his eyes unreadable. He claimed he could "help" Sulayman. He promised warmth, safety… and answers.

But in the silent corridors of the Thompson Institute Manor, safety is just another locked door.

Key Figures

Sulayman

An 11-year-old boy with a mind as sharp as glass. Quick to notice patterns others miss, Sulayman refuses to believe his parents simply abandoned him. Each night in the manor, he maps its hallways in his head, searching for the truth. Every answer he finds seems to raise more dangerous questions.

Oscar Thompson

Director of the Thompson Institute. A man of refined manners and cold precision, Oscar is as much a fixture of New York philanthropy as the marble lions at the Public Library. He is rarely without his silver pocket watch, which he winds at exactly 11:05 p.m. No one in the manor has ever heard it chime.

Michael Reid

Another ward of the manor, age 13. Michael speaks in hurried whispers, claiming the walls "remember things." Staff dismiss him as paranoid. Sulayman isn't so sure. Michael swears he's seen children vanish in the middle of the night — taken through the locked basement door marked 'Authorized Personnel Only.'

Whispers from the Staff

The Thompson Institute claims to serve "exceptional youth with extraordinary promise." But what is exceptional enough to warrant the whispered midnight transfers?

And why do those children never come back?

Coming Soon — The Tale of Solomon

Founded in 1894 by philanthropist Elias Thompson, the Thompson Institute has stood for over a century as a sanctuary for "gifted and displaced youth." Our mission is to cultivate potential in those whose talents and intellect are often overlooked by society.

Located in Manhattan's Upper East Side, the Institute provides housing, education, and specialized programs in arts, sciences, and cognitive development. We believe every child possesses a unique gift, and it is our role to shape it.
